Seneca Review

Published by jazmine at 3:25 am under Literary Journals Edit This

Fiction and non-fiction writers: don’t be discouraged just because Seneca Review focuses primarily on poetry. They have been known to publish other pieces that hold poetic qualities since 1997, when they began publishing the “lyric essay .”

Their guidelines claim that they do not to publish fiction. But the ever expanding definitions of poetry can always stretch wide enough to include various forms of writing.

If you don’t find that your writing has enough poetic elements to qualify, take a piece of flash fiction or memoir and play with lines and breaks until you find that what you have before you is, indeed, poetry.

Seneca Review’s reading period is from September 1st to May 1st. And the editors promise to respond within 12 weeks.
